Trekking in Jbel Saghro is a beautiful adventure through wild mountains, rocky valleys, and peaceful Berber villages. Starting from Nkob, the hike takes you through amazing desert landscapes with the help of local guides and mules.
The first day leads to Ighzoun Nimlasn, where you enjoy stunning views, lunch in nature, and a peaceful night camping under the stars with traditional Moroccan food. On the second day, the trek continues to Bab N’Ali, famous for its giant rock formations and beautiful canyons. It’s the perfect trip for anyone who loves nature, hiking, and discovering the real beauty of Morocco.

Our journey commences from the charming Riad du Sud in Tamsahelte. Setting off with our trusty car, we venture towards the picturesque village of Nkob, where our exhilarating hiking expedition to Saghro begins. In Nkob, we rendezvous with a team of friendly mules, embarking on our trek towards the captivating destination of Ighzoun Nimlasn.
This scenic hike spans approximately five hours of immersive exploration and discovery. Along the path to Ighzoun Nimlasn, we pause amidst the breathtaking landscape of the Tawdacht Valley for a delightful lunch break. As dusk descends, we retire to our cozy tents nestled in the heart of Ighzoun Nimlasn. Here, our skilled cook crafts a delectable feast, featuring fragrant Moroccan tagine brimming with fresh vegetables and a comforting soup, ensuring a truly satisfying culinary experience under the starlit sky.

As the morning sun illuminates our campsite, we prepare for another exhilarating day of hiking. Our journey commences as we traverse a scenic valley en route to Bab Nali. After approximately two hours of trekking, we reach Bab Nali, our resting place for the night. Here, a myriad of adventures await, from exploring picturesque waterfalls to meandering through small canyons and intriguing rock formations. Bab Nali’s captivating landscapes have graced numerous promotional videos and hosted a variety of cultural and sporting events. Notably, in 2005, this enchanting geological wonder served as a filming location for the renowned movie “Babel,” directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
