DAY 1: ZAGORA – MHARECH
In the morning we leave Zagora and drive to the oasis of Mharech on the old track of the Paris-Dakar Rally, over the Tizi-n-Tifilalet and hamadas, desert landscapes which consists largely of bare, hard rocky plateaus with very little sand. Here we are not far from the Algerian border. Dinner and overnight at the Auberge.

DAY 2: MHARECH – KHAMLIA – MERZOUGA
After breakfast we drive to Wadi Ghris and cross the village Ramlia and the Berber villages of Ouzani which seem to be lost in the desert. Along the way we have lunch. Then we continue to Taouz and the Gnawa village Khamlia. The Gnawa are an ethnic group which lives along the Moroccan / Algerian border and they are also known for the Gnawa music. Then we drive to the beautiful dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. We exchange our 4×4 for camels. From the dunes we enjoy the sunset and spend the night in Berber tents

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ERFOUD – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE
We get up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast our camels bring us back to the Auberge and we step back in our 4×4. We stop at the great forests of palms of Tafilalet and drive through the towns of Erfoud and Rissani. We also visit the palmgardens of Tinjdad and follow the road to Tinghir and to arrive at the Gorges du Toudra where we have a walk around and have lunch in a beautiful spot. In the afternoon we drive to Boumalne and then to the capital of the Dades Valley: Kelaa M’Gouna known for its roses. In Skoura we visit the Kasbah Amredhyle. At the end of the day we arrive in Ouarzazate.
